On June 30, our Association’s expert Eduard Pleshko took part in the event “Cognitive War – a New Domain of Modern World Conflicts” held in Kyiv on the basis of the National Institute for Strategic Studies.
The event became a platform for dialogue between representatives of science, the security sector and public administration with the participation of members of international organizations and diplomatic missions regarding new threats and the development of practical response mechanisms aimed at strengthening national and public stability.
The corresponding panel discussions were devoted to the modern challenges of cognitive warfare, the transformation of conflicts, the role of artificial intelligence, digital platforms, as well as practical mechanisms for the formation of cognitive and informational resilience of societies in the conditions of global security changes.
The ARC expert presented to the participants our latest research on the specifics of the aggressor’s use of the occupied Crimea as a tool of cognitive warfare, as well as the legacy of the Association for exposing the Crimean provocations of the aggressor in the field of artificial intelligence.
Among other things, it was emphasized that cognitive warfare should not be perceived simplistically as a type of informational or propaganda activity and requires consideration of its conduct by the aggressor as a component of other forms of conducting an armed conflict, including cyber warfare, legal warfare, and so on.
As a result of the event, Associate Professor Pleshko was included in the relevant working group of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, which will deal with the development of relevant proposals.
