On January 30, an expert of our Association, Borys Babin, took part in the presentation of the results of the IV Strategic Forum “The Future of Crimea”, entitled “The International Crimea Platform: Achievements, Challenges and Prospects of Institutionalization”, held in Kyiv for representatives of the diplomatic corps by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Mission of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Ukraine.
Among the speakers at the event, the general vision of the prospects for the institutionalization of the International Crimea Platform and of its Expert Network was presented by the head of the Center Eskender Bariiev, professor Ievgen Khlobystov, associate professors Olga Volyanyuk and Anastasia Antonyuk.
In his speech, professor Babin described the conducted analysis of the international and national reflection of the activities of the International Crimea Platform and he briefly described also the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly, acts of the OSCE, the Council of Europe and the European Parliament, and the statements of the Platform itself.
The expert also outlined the development of the Platform’s vision in the legislation of Ukraine, describing the relevant presidential decrees, parliamentary resolutions, strategies and action plans.
Professor Babin emphasized that, in accordance with the recommendations of the IV Strategic Forum, the issue of the international organizational form of further activity of the International Crimean Platform should be resolved jointly by its participants, and, for the probable development of the statutory or regulatory document of the Platform, it is proposed to create a special high-level working group by these states and international organizations.
