On May, 27, during OSCE ODIHR Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting “Media Literacy and Democracy” in Vienna our Association’s expert Olesya Tsybulko took active participation in side event “Media, information, and literacy: development in times of war” held by OSCE Secretariat with participation of Taras Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and Olha Kravchenko, Head of the “FILTER” National Media Literacy project under that Ministry

The event focused on “media literacy, examining state-level strategies, involvement of media in lifelong learning, good practices during wartime, and methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of media literacy projects”.

ARC’s expert initiated the discussion on concrete measures that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine was able to take during last year in the implementation of the Plan for the De-Occupation and Reintegration of Crimea, that was amended in April, 2023 and that established relevant tasks for Ministry over the past year, especially regarding media freedoms, in particular, to help and support journalists from Russia-occupied territories in places of non-freedom.

Ministry representatives described relevant efforts on Ukrainian authorities and pointed on next ways of cooperation.
