We previously examined the Sevastopol “authorities”‘ scam involving the “new project” PV20S passenger boats, which sparked a storm of indignation on social media, primarily regarding their “special seaworthiness” and “safety.”
The occupiers themselves stated in 2024 that “work on the first two boats sent to Sevastopol… has not yet been fully completed, and before testing, specialists on site will have to complete the vessels,” also without a clear deadline. A year ago, the occupiers claimed that two Project PV20S boats, which began construction in 2020 in Samara and were then moved to Sevastopol, were supposedly “98% and 90% complete,” while three more remained at the Samara plant, supposedly at “60% completion,” for which 1.245 billion rubles had already been spent.
Then, photos of the interiors of the two boats, rotting at Sevastopol berths, were published on social media.
As Sevastopol residents sarcastically noted, “If that’s 98% complete, then what does 60% represent?” We wrote that even the hypothetical completion of these vessels, which are clearly dangerous to passengers, is unlikely to please city residents.
Now it should be noted that Sevastopol residents can “breathe a sigh of relief,” as the described scam will clearly end with the funds simply disappearing, and no boats will be built, completed, or otherwise implemented in the foreseeable future.
This follows from the “closed trial” in the Sevastopol “arbitration court,” through which, as is standard practice, the occupiers are attempting to “hush up the issue” of the missing 415 million.
The “shortfall” is being documented through yet another “lawsuit” from “Sevelektroavtotrans im. A.S. Krupoderov” against the “State Transport Leasing Company” and the “Central Design Bureau” “Neptune.”
