As illegal Crimean “statisticians” are forced to admit, “in the first quarter of this year, the retail trade turnover in Sevastopol amounted to 22,717.2 million rubles,” which is “by 102.9 million rubles less than in the same period last year, that is, the retail trade turnover decreased by 8.6 %”.
A number of media outlets claim that part of the Sevastopol population left the region “due to the difficult geopolitical situation” and that the “number of tourists decreased” in it. However, the main “outflow” of the population that affects the volume of demand is the movement by the aggressor of “conscripts”, “contract workers” and “mobilized” from the Sevastopol base to the areas of hostilities, which, of course, affects consumer demand.
Also, as a number of demographers claim, this process also affects the sharp decline in the birth rate in the occupied city, which we have already written about, for the same prosaic reason – there is no one not only to buy goods, but also to participate in the reproduction of the population.
