Recently, the aggressor’s propaganda claimed that “18 regions in Kremlin-controlled territory are seeing an increase in the total fertility rate in September 2025 year-on-year,” with occupied Sevastopol supposedly “leading the way” by September.
This “exuberant optimism” is being conveyed in the context of a further decline in this rate in Moscow-controlled territories: authorities there were forced to admit that “the total fertility rate in Russia in September 2025 was 1.376,” down from 1.399 in January. Let us recall that, to at least maintain the population, this coefficient must exceed 2.
Meanwhile, in the occupied AR of Crimea, this coefficient allegedly stood at 1.482 in September, and in the “rapidly growing” Sevastopol, it was “as much” as 1.068. The current “leadership growth” is due to the fact that in January, this coefficient allegedly stood at exactly 1 for the occupied city.
Let us recall that the aggressor-controlled “Crimean statisticians” stopped publishing key demographic data in absolute terms starting in 2024. This is not surprising: although no one could guarantee the absence of fake figures, specialists could calculate the degree of veracity by double-checking the figures using appropriate methods.
The aggressor can systematically “draw out of thin air” the current coefficients, and in fact, they say little. It’s clear that the populations of the AR of Crimea and Sevastopol are declining “under the sun of the Russian world” on a massive and irreversible scale, but at roughly the same rate. The “Sevastopol imbalance” is explained simply: by the city’s high concentration of “cannon fodder” “registered” there, who “participate in demographic reproduction” primarily in theory, but “fully appear” in the statistics.
