In mid-October, the occupiers quietly extended the tragicomedy of “restoration” of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai until at least 2026.
As a reminder, the “restoration” saga, which led to numerous scandals and significant damage to the historic palace, was carried out by a whole group of entities with various beneficiaries, periodically “grabbing” yet another sum for “mutually beneficial development” within the corrupt hierarchy. The following firms have “made their mark” in this field at various times: “NST”, “Restoration Companies”, “RSK Gefest”, “STK Am-Stroy”, and “RosKapStroy” from Moscow, the St. Petersburg firm “Meander”, owned by the infamous Vladimir Medinsky, the Kazan-based “StroyMirRekonstruktsiya”, and the Simferopol-based companies “Kiramet” and “Nauchnyy Restoratsionny Tsentr”.
Until this October, the Simferopol-based “Krymzhilkomfort”, owned by Sergei and Olesya Rogozhin, was siphoning off 168 million rubles from the ongoing tragicomedy of the “re-reconstruction” of the Count’s Building and the Khan’s Kitchen.
Previously, this company laundered considerable funds through the “major renovation” of the Vorontsov Palace, the Swallow’s Nest, and such a “masterpiece” as the Lenin monument in Dzhankoy.
It’s therefore not surprising that the cost of “reconstruction” of the same Count’s Building and Khan’s Kitchen has now been increased to 479 million, extending the “repair” period for another year, and, most likely, not for the last time.
