On August 7, Crimean gauleiter Sergei Aksyonov announced the alleged “stability” of the situation with drinking water supply in the occupied AR of Crimea. At the same time, he declared, “as of August 5”, that allegedly “the filling of natural runoff reservoirs is about 75.8 million cubic meters, and of bulk reservoirs – 29.4 million cubic meters”; let us recall that just a week ago the figure for natural runoff reservoirs was allegedly 100 million cubic meters.
This “stability” actually exists only as a characteristic of an ongoing problem. Collaborators can no longer hide the lack of water in the boreholes and wells of the villages in the Crimean foothills, and therefore it is not surprising that in parallel with the current “optimism” from the gauleiter, his Alushta “subordinate” Galina Ogneva announced the “installation of additional tanks with technical water”.
She named such “settlements in dire need of an additional source of water supply” as Malorechenske (Kuchuk Ozen), Luchiste (Demerdzhi), Verkhnya Kutuzivka (Shuma) and Maly Mayak (Buyuk Lambat). However, as the previous experience of “stability” in installing these tanks in the Bakhchisarai villages shows, no one brought water there after installation and these “blue monuments” to “especially thoughtful water management” mainly became a source not of moisture, but of sarcasm for the population.
And if for the “capital water supply” in Simferopol, according to the same Aksyonov, 80 thousand cubic meters are extracted from wells every day in a predatory manner, then the rest of the population is promised in some “bright day after tomorrow” some “development of a unified water supply and sanitation scheme for the republic”, which also in itself does not guarantee anyone water in the tap.
As for the same Alushta, the occupiers again promise to build, within the “framework of the federal project”, the Martovskoye and Solnechnogorskoye reservoirs, but “before 2030”.
At the same time, about 50 million were previously written off for “clearing the channels” of the same Alushta rivers, which will supposedly fill these reservoirs, and this process would be, to put it mildly, incompatible with the construction of hydraulic structures, if it had not taken place exclusively on paper.
Also, the “historical decisions” on new reservoirs on “forest fund lands” in seismically and mudflow-prone areas are not substantiated by any real calculations, which in fact follows from the showy “production meetings” hastily held by the fake “minister of ecology and natural resources” Olga Shevtsova.
Against this background, the illegal “head of the Simferopol district administration” Sergei Petelin, transferred by the Kremlin to the occupied region from Russia in 2015, “wisely” demanded that the population complain about the lack of water and other “municipal excesses” not to him, but to the “heads of resource-supplying organizations via a social network”.
At the same time, all the “Crimean authorities” decided to “keep a little quiet” about the main reason for the water deficit for those Crimean residents who met the occupation with a centralized water supply: the horrific wear and tear of distribution networks over the last decade, with leakage of at least 50% of the water.
With such losses, it is not surprising that all the wells and even more so “water supply scheme projects” and “new reservoirs” will not change the situation in principle. Here, the revelations of collaborator Maxim Novik from the illegal “Water of Crimea” are also noteworthy, according to which over the next three years they are going to master such “crazy money” as no more than 1.3 billion rubles on “global programs”.
Even if these funds are not suddenly stolen, they are literally “a drop in the ocean” against the backdrop of the trillion-dollar military expenditures of the aggressor, and in the best case will allow “changing the most emergency sections by three or four kilometers.” Thus, the classic slogan of the occupiers in Crimea is already beginning to sound like “there is no water, but you hold on.”
