Aggressor-controlled “Crimean publics” began to vigorously discuss in January table salt found in stores on the occupied peninsula from a certain Moscow company “TDS”, the “importer” of which was stated to be the Kyiv company “TDS-Korosten”. However, earlier this “Kiev-Moscow” salt, supposedly with a “production address” in Rostov Azov, which turned out to be in fact Turkish one, was “noted” in 2023 in the U.S.
A journalistic investigation indicated a connection between both “TDS” and ‘TDS-Korosten” with Muscovite Pavel Bogolyubov, and it also stated, with reference to economic court case 160/16074/20, that at least until 2022 “TDS-Korosten” imported salt to territory, controlled by government of Ukraine. But back in 2021, “Peacemaker” revealed that it was in the interests of “TDS” that criminal ship calls with a cargo of salt from Turkey to occupied Sevastopol were carried out, in particular, by the vessel “Kama” under the Russian flag, number IMO 8860822; Before this, in 2019, a similar cargo from Karadeniz Eregli to Sevastopol was carried by the ship “Solidat” under the Russian flag, number IMO 7614599.
Let us note that “TDS” specializes specifically in vacuum-evaporated and sea salt, and if for the latter it works with Turkish counterparties, then for evaporated salt its partner is the Belarusian “Mozyrsol”. In addition, “TDS” also purchases tableted salt from the German manufacturer “ESCO”.
The personality of the director and co-founder of “TDS-Korosten”, Alexander Zaturanov, a former co-founder of the “Donmash” company in the Luhansk Region and a former commercial director of the state concern “Artemsol”, is also noteworthy. The “Salt Trading House” as “TDS Russia” is actually translitterated, also lists Zaturanov as a representative in Kyiv; it is obvious that this criminal business requires an appropriate law enforcement and sanctions response.
