On December 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the plan of activities for the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol in 2024. As reported by the Government Portal, the purpose of the act is to honor the courage and heroism of Ukrainians who live in occupied Crimea and Sevastopol and defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

According to the Plan, events will be held in educational institutions, libraries, exhibition halls and museums. They include meetings with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied Crimea, the creation of thematic exhibitions, screenings of art and documentary films, as well as the holding of scientific and practical conferences, where experts will look for ways to overcome the consequences of the occupation.

At the same time, the Plan plans to hold the “Letters to a Free Crimea” campaign, during which letters will be collected for political prisoners held in places of detention in the temporarily occupied territory or in the aggressor state. The Plan envisages the implementation of his prescriptions by February next year. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine should provide thematic information to servicemen about the causes, progress and consequences of the temporary occupation of Crimea, the goals of the Security Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine regarding the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula.

Regional military administrations should hold ceremonies of raising the Crimean Tatar flag alongside the State Flag of Ukraine in regional centers and other settlements with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and the Anthem of the Crimean Tatar People. According to the Plan, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance should ensure the functioning of the virtual museum of Russian aggression, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should ensure the conduct of events by foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine dedicated to the topic of the temporary occupation of Crimea, as well as other violations of international law by the aggressor state.
