According to the invaders-controlled “media”, a “competition of children’s paintings” from the “Lego” constructor with the name “Painting of the Crimea in the style of cubes” was held in the occupied Sevastopol, on which “Tauric Chersonese, the Black Sea, Primorsky Boulevard, Swallow’s Nest and other iconic places of the peninsula were presented”.

It would seem that for the first time in a long time, the Russian occupiers organized some kind of action for children that was not related to militarization and “victory frenzy”, but everything is not as simple as it seems. The fact is that this “picture competition”, the idea of which was stolen from “colleagues from Yakutia” in the occupied city, is associated with the “Lego” concern, which decided to completely stop commercial activities in Russia itself in the spring of 2022.

The production in the Czech Republic of constructors intended for sale in the Russian Federation was stopped by the corporation on March 3, 2022, after the start of large-scale Russian aggression.

Then the Moscow division of “Lego” cut 70 of its employees and ended its partnership with the company “Inventive Retail Group”, which operated “Lego” stores in Russia itself.

The company’s stores were bought out by “partners” and became “multi-brand” under the name “World of Cubes”, the company closed its warehouses and sold out the existing goods.

The aggressor’s propaganda at first tried to gloat over the «Lego» losses incurred, but it soon turned out that they were quite small and were offset by profits from the expansion of “Lego’s” work in other countries. Now, obviously, the Russian occupiers are trying to imitate the “remnants of civilization” on the peninsula in the form of sub-sanctioned toys, or, hiding behind the Crimean children, they will start dirty provocations against the corporation itself.
