On April 30, the birthday of a prisoner of conscience, a Crimean Tatar athlete, master of sports in taekwondo and champion of Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Europe, Uzeyir Abdullayev, the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea called on all those who do to join the “Letters to Free Crimea” initiative, which continues until May 27 , and write personally to Uzeyir and other Crimean political prisoners.

It is stated that this will be an important support for the captives and will show that the Ukrainians remember them and are fighting for their release.

It should be reminded that on April 24 at the OSCE/ODIHR Supplementary Meeting in Vienna, the expert of our Association, Professor Boris Babin, in his speech described in detail the example of the Abdullayev brothers, who are subjected to torture and ill-treatment in the Russian dungeons of Bashkortostan. On the example of these honored veterans and coaches of the Crimean, Ukrainian, European, international sports, repressed by the Russian invaders, the ARC expert debunked the “Olympic” provocations of the Kremlin.

Let us recall that Uzeyir Abdullayev has been training athletes for almost 20 years. First in Baku, where he was born, and after moving to his historical homeland in the Crimea – In Simferopol. In Crimea, Uzeyir got married and has four children. The man was active in public life and supported the Crimean residents persecuted by the occupiers, in particular, he constantly visited them during criminal raids and “searches” carried out by Russian punishers.

Instructions for writing letters to political prisoners are posted by the Mission at the link.
