On April 14, the aggressor announced a “sudden check” of its Pacific Fleet, after which it announced its alleged “high readiness”.
However, almost simultaneously it was announced that his commander, Admiral Sergei Avakyants, was “leaving his post” allegedly in connection with the “retirement age”, and at the same time he was transferred to lead the “headquarters that will oversee the centers for military sports training and patriotic education” criminally created by the Kremlin and in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Probably, the removal of Avakyants is due to the “insufficient attention” of the commander to the units of the Pacific Fleet, who are dying as part of the aggressor’s army in the steppes of Eastern Ukraine – the Kremlin clearly wanted to find a “switchman” in their defeats.
On April 20, a number of Russian “media” announced that Admiral Viktor Liina, the current commander of the Baltic Fleet, under whom, in particular, there were explosions at the “Nord Stream”, would be appointed to the vacant post. For Liina, the transfer to Vladivostok is clearly an increase and it already exhaustively answers the question of how the Kremlin is actually “dissatisfied” with the events in the Baltic.
Liina criminally “checked in” in the occupied Sevastopol, where in 2016-2019 he was the chief of staff of the invaders’ Black Sea Fleet. It is noteworthy that his illegal activities coincided with the activities of the criminal “governor” in Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, whose ties with Russian intelligence we have already described.
It is also interesting that in the fall of 2022, when the Kremlin removed the commander of the fleet, Igor Osipov, Liina was one of the candidates for his place, and was again seen in the occupied Sevastopol.
However, at the current new place of service, Admiral Liina, a person from the sanctions lists, will be somewhat less likely to play the game traditional for Russia – “the heroic flooding of own fleet in the bay”.
