On September 17, 2020, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) issued a press release onhuman rights violations in armed conflicts. ECtHR highlighted the state of consideration of interstateapplications of Ukraine against the Russian Federation related to the occupation of Crimea, such as20958/14 (general events of 2014) 42410/15 (general events of 2015), 38334/18 (persecution ofpolitical prisoners) and 55855/18 (capture by Russians the Ukrainian Navy sailors). The press releasestates that the ECtHR is currently considering more than 6,500 individual applications related to theRussian-Ukrainian conflict, and that the European Court has taken interim measures at the requests ofthe victims in more than 200 of these applications.
