The number of unemployed persons in Chornomorske District of occupied Crimea has increased in 2.7 times and reached 628 in the first six months of 2020 compared to 235 in the same period last year. According to the press office of the Russia-controlled administration in Chornomorske District, on 1 July 2020, 682 jobseekers were registered with the Job Centre, of which 578 were unemployed. The unemployment rate was 3.2% higher than on 1 July 2019 and amounted to 4.2% of the economically active population.
‘The imbalance at the labour market is significant: the demand for qualified personnel is greater than the supply’, the press office says in the statement.
The statement also notes service and trade workers are of the highest demand in the region totalling 158 vacancies (37.9% of the total number of vacant jobs). There is a great demand for highly skilled managers and specialists (94 vacancies or 22.5%), as well as experienced industrial, construction and transport workers (17.7%). There are 55 vacancies for unskilled workers.
