On 10 July, Ukrainian MP, delegate of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People Rustem Umerov met with Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ukraine Rashid al-Adwani. During the meeting, they discussed Ukraine-Kuwait relations, the condition of Crimean Tatars and violations of human rights in occupied Crimea.
‘We, representatives of the Crimean Tatar People, seek direct support of Muslim states, including Kuwait, in protecting and observing human rights and religious freedoms in temporarily occupied Crimea’, Umerov said.
The Ukrainian MP also stated that Rashid al-Adwani was willing to organise a Ukraine-Kuwait parliamentary meeting in 2021 after parliamentary elections in his country.
Mustafa Dzhemilev, Akhtem Chiygoz, Rustem Umerov and Musa Magamedov could possibly participate in the meeting.
