On February 27, a statement was made public by the Presidium of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, in which the representative body of the Crimean Tatars addressed with words of support and gratitude to the inhabitants of Crimea, who do not accept the Russian occupation, who remain devotion to the Ukrainian state.
The Mejlis called on all compatriots living in the Russian-occupied Crimea to maintain unity, support political prisoners, and help families subjected to repression and persecution by the Russian occupiers.
The Mejlis also called on the international community, in particular the governments and parliaments of the member states of the Crimean Platform, to strengthen political, diplomatic, military, financial and other assistance to Ukraine in the full restoration of its sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
In addition, the representative body of the indigenous people called on the UN member states to restore the application of the UN Charter in the issue of the illegitimacy of the Russia’s stay in the UN, to deprive Russia of the status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council and to carry out the procedure for its expulsion from the UN.
