In social networks, residents of Sevastopol write about the gradual destruction of the ruins of the monastery of the Blachernae Mother of God located near Chersonesus, the center of which is the church of the same name built in the 6th century, as well as nearby ancient burial places dating back to the periods of ancient Greek policies and early Christianity.
Before the start of the Russian occupation, the ruins were properly cared for by museum workers. And since 2014, although the occupiers have announced a certain “inclusion” of the relevant ruins in the illegal “cultural site”, these historical monuments are gradually being destroyed.
The historical monument is not protected by anyone and no work is being done to improve the territory on which it is located. At the same time, Sevastopol residents note that literally “across the road” the occupiers “master”, mainly into the pockets of fake “officials”, the so-called “federal funding” for the actual restructuring of “Chersonesos” according to the “standards of the Russian world”.
Well, as for the ruins of the aforementioned monastery, where, in fact, minimal security, fencing and putting things in order are required, fake “officials” do not care, because, as Sevastopol residents note, they “love large-scale, financially intensive projects.”
