On June 25, experts of our Association Borys Babin, Anna Prykhodko and Eduard Pleshko took an active part in the all-Ukrainian round table “Current Problems of the Constitutional Law of Ukraine under Martial Law”, held in Kropyvnytskyi by the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine.
The event was attended by scientists and officials of the National Police of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the regional military administration, the Ombudsman’s office, and other government bodies.
The participants of the event discussed current issues of the constitutional order and human rights under martial law, the specifics of the activities of the state administration system and the law enforcement sector.
In his concluding remarks, concluding the round table, Professor Babin paid attention to the dimensions of constitutional mechanisms in the processes of de-occupation and reintegration of the territories of Ukraine, including Crimea, to the issues of protecting the interests of the state and displaced persons.
Particular attention was paid to the relevant practice of international institutions, including the European Court of Human Rights and the OSCE, highlighted the achievements of our Association in relevant areas, and assessed existing profile draft laws and other legal initiatives.
Also, experts, including Associate Professor Kateryna Karpova, shared relevant experience in the format of the previous work of the International Crimean Platform, the “Future of Crimea” forums, and key cases that the Association’s experts conducted in Ukrainian and international jurisdictions on the de-occupation of the peninsula.
