In framework of permanent co-operation with United Nations’ officials and structures our Association sent submission for preperation of the 2023 report of the UN Secretary-General on the implementation of the UN General Assembly resolution 77/205 regarding elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
ARC’s submission, prepared by proffessor Borys Babin and published at UN web-sources now, stressed again on facts of discrimination of hostages from number of Ukrainian civil activists, prisoners of war, kept by Russia in the Crimea in awful conditions, of Ukrainian children, deported from Ukraine’s mainland to the Crimea and Russia as Kremlin’s genocidal practice, of representatives of indigenous Crimean Tatar People and various minorities.
ARC’s submission pointed on Russia’s attempted provocations with Crimean collaborators, connected with counteraction to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in preparing its Concluding Observations on Russia’s violations of the requirements of the relevant Convention of 1965. Also submission reminded on the of regular Nazi statements criminal “Crimean speaker” Vladimir Konstantinov and issues of of manipulations with alleged “racial discrimination” of “Russian athletes” before the International Olympic Committee. ARC stressed that issues of such alleged “discrimination” must not be ground for propaganda of aggression, genocide an war crimes as Russia try to commit in the Olympic events using own “sportsmen”.
Regarding the UN GA resolution 77/205 ARC gave such key proposals as UN structures’ duty to protect victims from racial discrimination that is a tool of aggression crimes and war crimes; duty to protect from hate speech that conjunct calls for racial discrimination and calls for aggressive war, genocide and war crimes in interstate conflict conditions; duty to protect effectively indigenous peoples from racial discrimination in conflict zones and under foreign occupation, as in happens in Crimea.
