In framework of permanent cooperation with UN bodies and agencies our Association sent submission to UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities Ms. Heba Hagrass for her report on children with disabilities to the 80th session of the General Assembly.
ARC’s submission, published at UN official sources now, described challenges for Ukrainian children with disabilities, deported illegally by Russian invaders to Crimea and to Russia from 2022.
ARC’s submission reminded the UN officials about the participation of the Crimean organised criminal groups, connected with Crimean “authorities” in sexual exploitation of youth and child trafficking even before 2022, and that illegal “child protection services”, created by Russia in the Crimea, never reacted to those challenges.
ARC’s submission reminded the UN on details of deportation of the Ukrainian children by Russian invaders since 2022, stressed on relevant investigation of the International Criminal Court and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.
ARC’s submission added that in Russia-occupied mainland territories of Ukraine illegal “child protection services” are used by invaders for illegal pressure and threat against families of children, which sympathize with Ukraine, use tools of distance education by Ukrainian school programs and refuse to take “Russian citizenship documents”.
ARC’s submission proposed to the Special Rapporteur to point special attention to strengthened protection and accountability for children with disabilities and their families, who are victims of repressions and child trafficking, in conditions of war conflicts and foreign occupation.
