In September, the occupiers’ “Crimean” propaganda published quite characteristic confessions of the so-called “deputy head of the Crimean republican association” “Ecology and Peace” (“Ekologiya i mir”) Andrey Artov regarding the “climate imbalance” and “unstable weather”.
The aggressor’s half-acknowledgment of the challenges of global warming is quite characteristic here, with the statement that this is “all over the world” and that “the weather will become increasingly unstable”.
Let us recall, that we have previously written many times that the Kremlin is using global warming as a climate weapon, allegedly “beneficial to the Russian economy and geopolitics”.
This indirectly follows from Artov’s statements, according to which the aggressor has chosen the path not of “reducing the processes that affect the climate”, including compliance with UN climate conventions, but of so-called “adaptation”.
At the same time, Artov mentions such a “historical” document as the “Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Republic of Crimea” dated May 6, 2022.
It is worth noting here that this “prescript of the council of ministers 571-r”, naturally, was not an initiative of the “republican authorities”, but “worked out federal instructions” from the aggressor’s Ministry of Economic Development.
The document is really not so much about the alleged “emission reductions”, but about “a new life in very warm Crimea”.
But there is only one thing that is noteworthy in this document: the collaborators did not provide a penny for its “implementation”, including “prevention of the negative impact of water and elimination of consequences”, “construction and reconstruction of irrigation systems and structures for irrigation” and even “insurance of agricultural crops against the risks of death”.
Thus, both the population of Crimea and the residents of other areas with a difficult climate now have to pay for the Kremlin’s adventures in the area of global warming, not only with money, but also with their health and their future.
