On March 20 expert of our Association Borys Babin took participation in discussion over the Report of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, “Ukraine’s Strategic Response to the Displacement Crisis: Return, Reintegrate, Reconnect”.
Discussion was organised in hybrid framework with speeches of Minister for Migration of Sweden Johan Forssell, Special Envoy for Ukrainians in the EU Ylva Johansson, Ukrainian officials Ilona Havronska and Mariana Betsa and OECD representatives Mark Pearson and Mariya Aleksynska.
OECD Report identified potential bottlenecks that may impede future reintegration processes in Ukraine.
Intended to inform Ukrainian authorities and their international partners, Report offered practical policy directions to facilitate return and reintegration and maintain meaningful ties with non-returnees.
OECD Report analysed also socio economic conditions of those who already returned, the evolution of return intentions of those who are still displaced, and future return dynamics under different security scenarios.
During the discussion Professor Babin shared with its participants our Association’s analytical materials on issues of displacement from Crimea and our investigations resulst of relevant Russia-committed international crimes.
