In the framework of our Association’s active participation at the Warsaw Human Dimension Conference 2025, held by OSCE ODIHR, ARC expert Borys Babin reported about Russia’s criminal policy against interreligious relations at its plenary session, devoted to countering discrimination on grounds of religion.
Expert reminded of the demonstrative and provocative burning of the holy book for all Muslims – the Quran – in Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands, allegedly organized by “far-right-wing politicians” but de-facto orchestrated by Russian intelligence, as attacks against the human dimension in the interreligious framework.
Professor Babin added that ARC informed authorized interstate institutions and officials, civilized nations’ governments, and more than 400 respected religious entities all around the world about the proofs of Russian influence on the initiators of criminal attacks against the Holy Quran. After such disclosure of Russian intelligence activities, those attacks stopped.
But later the same “far-right-wing politicians”, orchestrated by Russian intelligence, were noticed in attacks against democratic institutions, anti-Christian and anti-Semitic actions in European states, Professor Babin added. And later, in 2024-2025, the same “far-right-wing politicians” were noticed disseminating hate speech against Ukrainian refugees in Europe, including against the Crimean Tatars.
Expert stressed that those illegal provocations were supported by illegal propaganda activities in the Russia-occupied territories, including Crimea, with the dissemination of fakes against European states, cultures of European nations, and Western Christianity.
Also, growth of anti-Semitic and anti-Roma statements in Russian propaganda was noticed in Crimea since 2024, in addition to the hate speech and genocidal calls against ethnic Ukrainians, traditional for the Russian “authorities” and propaganda, Professor Babin added at the OSCE Conference.
