Last week, expert of our Association Olesya Tsybulko took online participation in a meeting regarding public and parliamentary diplomacy in action, «What does Team Europe’s support look like on the ground in Ukraine?», held by the European Parliament in the framework of the European Public Diplomacy Week in Brussels.
This event, organized by the European External Action Service (EEAS), aims to highlight how the EU engages with the world through public diplomacy and people-to-people initiatives. It brings together various EU institutions, civil society organizations, regional and city networks, cultural projects, and practitioners from around the globe to discuss and share best practices.
The event was opened by President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and by Vice-Chair of its Committee on Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet, discussion was moderated by Vice-President of the European Parliament Esteban González Pons and included reports of EU Rapporteurs on Ukraine Michael Gahler and Daniel Freund, Vice-Chair of Committee on Budget Lucia Yar and others.
The meeting was finalized by an exchange of views on the digital exhibition “Unveiled Ukraine” with works by artist Kateryna Mostova. The event allowed our expert to exchange opinions with its participants on issues of support by European Union aspects of reintegration of the Ukrainian territories, including the Crimea, after its deoccupation, as well as the Union’s aid to Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons.
