On August 31, our Association expert Olesya Tsybulko continued her active work in Prague at the global security forum “Globsec 2024”, actively participating in panel discussions and events on the sidelines of the forum.
The ARC expert discussed aspects of threats to regional and global security from Russian aggression and occupation of territories, including the Crimea, with former Prime Minister of Slovakia Mikuláš Dzurinda and with one of the leaders of the democratic Slovak opposition, Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Michal Šimečka.
The relevant issues also became the subject of communication between the Association expert and the Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Ivan Bartoš and the Vice President of the European Commission Věra Jourová.
The “Globsec 2024” panels discussed two issues, raised by expert Tsybulko, namely the timing of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union in the context of ongoing Russian aggression and occupation of territories, as well as Ukraine’s successes in the field of digitalization, achieved despite large-scale Russian aggression.
Olesya Tsybulko informed the forum participants about the work of the Association to counter hate speech, incitement to genocide, Nazi and racist propaganda, using the examples of Russia and the territories, occupied by the Russian Federation.
Among other things, the expert shared our experience in communicating with UN and OSCE bodies, including the relevant points of UN General Assembly resolutions.
The expert also reported on the Association’s developments on the prospects for personal responsibility for incitement to international crimes committed by the aggressor’s propagandists, in particular regarding the role of specific victims, compensation for damages and universal jurisdiction.
The forum participants were also interested in information exposing the developments of the aggressor in the field of bacteriological weapons, in particular using the example of the criminal activities of the Russian military at the Crimean anti-plague station in Simferopol.
