Recently, during another ritual “public meeting” with the Crimean gauleiter Sergei Aksyonov, the so-called “general director” of the notorious mobile operator “Miranda-media,” Sergei Mordasov, stated that allegedly in 2025, this company’s mobile network supposedly “served over 3 million subscribers from other operators during the 2025 tourist season.”
Naturally, it is difficult to believe the words of this functionary, who previously headed the Rostov kindergarten “Snegiryok” and then managed the Rostov branch of “Rostelecom,” and who replaced Igor Zhidikin from Moscow in the “director’s chair” of “Miranda-media” in September 2025.
But even these words completely refute the aggressor’s propaganda stories about the alleged “almost seven million Russian tourists who visited Crimea in 2025.”
The fact is that “Miranda-media” is the de facto monopolist of mobile communications on the occupied peninsula.
Therefore, all Russians who illegally visited Crimea in 2025 with their SIM cards for at least a few hours (and “Miranda-media” subscribers are not widespread in Russia itself),
are automatically “served by the mobile network” of this company at one point or another.
We should exclude young children who do not have their own phone numbers from the calculations, but also take into account that most adult Russians who are able to travel anywhere have several mobile devices simultaneously.
We should also consider that Russian military personnel, who are constantly being moved through Crimea, as well as various truck drivers, “business travelers,” and so on, have mobile phones.
Therefore, Mordasov’s claims about “three million people connected to the network” once again completely refute the fabricated figure of “seven million” and reduce it significantly, even if we take the claims of this former kindergarten director seriously.
