While the tragicomedy with the liquidation of the local mobile operator “SevMobile”, described by us earlier, is ending in occupied Sevastopol, with the transfer of the “state unitary enterprise” “SevTelecom” under the “wing” of the Moscow joint-stock company “Voentelecom” with hidden beneficiaries, and the throwing out of the “company’s management” on the street, the aggressor announced a new large-scale scam in the mobile communications sector.
It is reported that in all occupied territories “a new mobile operator” will appear, “SberMobile”, as an “operator of mobile communications and Internet services” and a subsidiary of “Sberbank of Russia”.
At the same time, this “virtual operator” with CEO Sergei Volkov will use the infrastructure, controlled by “Miranda”, which we have described many times, whose “combat” entry into the occupied east of Ukraine we analyzed last year.
Now the “memorandum of cooperation” on this matter was signed on October 17 “at the forum of innovative financial technologies Finopolis-2024”.
Now the rather non-public “appointment” in the form of the “general director” of “Miranda-Media” Igor Zhizhikin, which took place in December 2023, has become clear. This occupiers’ “talking head” previously built a career in the Russian mobile operator “Tele2”, mainly as a “director of the macroregion”.
But it is the operator “Tele2” that is the main supplier of mobile communications infrastructure for “SberMobile” in Russia itself, that is, it plays in Russia the role that “Miranda-Media” will now play in the occupied territory, namely, laundering huge funds on Internet banking and online communications.
