On June 12, experts of our Association Borys Babin and Anna Prykhodko took an active part in the event “Lustration in the Context of Russian Armed Aggression”, held by the “Renaissance” foundation, which gathered many experts and representatives of human rights organizations.
During the discussion, Professor Babin reminded those present about the issue of lustration, as a component of the processes of de-occupation and reintegration, and pointed to the program documents with which the Ukrainian authorities tried to cover this issue in recent years.
In communication with their colleagues, the experts of the Association paid special attention to the results of the strategic forums “Future of Crimea”, which worked out a systematic assessment and proposals for relevant program acts and formed a comprehensive vision for solving relevant challenges and risks.
Among other things, the issue of correlation between lustration processes and electoral, property, informational rights and relations in the field of citizenship was raised, the need to comply with relevant international standards and to take into account the practice of the European Court of Human Rights was pointed out.
