According to the Association of Crimean Tatar Derneks of Turkey, on May 4, the Crimea Foundation hosted a conference “Migration from Crimea to Konya,” organized by Ilyas Er, who presented his monograph of the same name on the results of systemic research. The association recalled that “Crimean Tatars, forced to migrate from their homeland, continue their lives, ensuring the well-being and peace of their grandchildren living in Turkey, but do not forget the persecution of their ancestors and their homeland.” Therefore, Crimean Tatar organizations in Turkey will gather in Eskisehir on May 18 for a funeral rally.
President of the “Crimea” (“Kirim”) Foundation Tunjer Kalkay recalled the provocation of Russia to hold “concerts of the Russian army choir tour” in Turkey on May 18, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, and on May 21, which coincides with the 160th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Circassian expulsion .
Kalkay pointed out that these provocations “during the days of mourning were canceled after our reaction” and that “such provocations may become more frequent if we do not know our history, and that the Crimean Tatar youth have a great responsibility for such research that will shed light on our history.”
