The last week of August began in the aggressor-controlled Crimean “media” with hysteria regarding the activities of the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, namely regarding the publication of annual collections of “Demographic well-being of the regions of Russia. National demographic report”, including for last year.
The hysteria of the propagandists was in no way connected with the rather sad, albeit “prudently smoothed over” by the authors content of the reports, including figures that are disappointing for the Kremlin, statements about the “worsening demographic crisis, characterized by a high level of divorces among young families, a decline in the birth rate and an increase in the number of single-parent families”.
The propagandists were also not interested in the situations described by the Vologda demographers of the “quality of life of young men with acquired disabilities”, in the context of hundreds of thousands of “veterans” of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
The “righteous anger” of the Crimean “media” was caused by something completely different, namely the absence of Crimea and the occupied mainland territories of Ukraine on the cover of the reports “as part of Russia”.
The fact that Crimea is not even in the contents of the collection (where the regions of Russia itself are actually given selectively, since the Vologda demographers clearly did not have enough resources to “study everyone”) is not mentioned in the current curses addressed to the “rootless cosmopolitans of demography”: it is obvious that no one bothered to read the reports themselves, where there are “too many letters”, in occupied Crimea beyond the cover.
