On May 3, the tragicomic “representative of the Russian foreign affairs finistry in Simferopol” Artem Berezovsky promised to “open new foreign diplomatic missions” on the occupied peninsula, although he did not provide any details.
Let us recall that among all the Kremlin’s satellites, only Nicaragua became the formal “roof” of the illegal “honorary consulate” in occupied Crimea, this happened in 2020.
We have repeatedly described the “exploits” of Oleg Belaventsev, a career Russian spy and at the same time the “honorary consul of Nicaragua”, but in the context of the described announcements from Berezovsky, we will add that the aforementioned “consul” and former “permanent representative” of the Kremlin dictator in the Crimea has not distinguished himself at all in the “diplomatic field” over the past five years.
Belaventsev regularly “trades his face” at all sorts of “official events” of the occupiers, but he maintains “relations” in Crimea only with Aksyonov and Konstantinov, and clearly not “diplomatically”.
In the framework of “external relations” from Belaventsev in 2025, the main success so far is considered to be visiting a school in Pyatigorsk, and, paradoxically, the occupiers do not even allow him to attend the Crimean sabbaths, conducted under the supervision of his colleague from the “rival service” Georgy Muradov.
And therefore, in the context of the described announcement from Berezovsky, Crimean collaborators are lively discussing which of the Kremlin “retirees” the Russian special services will appoint to serve as the next “honorary consul” on the occupied peninsula.
