Last week, the so-called “minister of industrial policy” of the occupiers, Anushavan Agadzhanyan, decided to “make happy” the Crimeans with stories about some “industrial breakthrough”.
In addition to the fact that in the “official statistics” the indicators of “industrial production in 2024” were supposedly “not lower than last year’s”, and in addition to another promise to build a glass container plant “someday”, it was difficult to expect any special “insider information” from this figure.
However, Agadzhanyan did voice one interesting detail, and we are talking about the long-suffering Feodosia plant “More”.
According to the “minister”, at this “withdrawn from bankruptcy procedure” enterprise “four excursion ships of the Kotlin type are being built, which will subsequently operate on the Crimean coast, and there is an agreement on the construction of another 16 such ships”.
At the same time, no data on such construction has appeared on other resources before. And the ships of the 04580 “Kotlin” project are, to put it mildly, very specific, both in technical characteristics and in the history of their origin.
This project arose as a consequence of a large-scale scam initiated by the daughter of the former and infamous aggressor’s Minister of Defense, Ksenia Shoigu, namely the “museum and historical park” “Island of Forts” in Kronstadt and its environs.
In the project of large-scale glorification of the Kronstadt forts, which managed to personally interest the Kremlin dictator, many federal billions have disappeared over the past few years, and one of the “branches” of this scam was the development of special excursion ships, allegedly to “take tourists from the center of St. Petersburg to the forts.”
The vessels were designed by St. Petersburg’s Forss Technologies and built since 2021 at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, and commissioned by the aggressor’s State Transport Leasing Company for a private company, “Neva Travel”.
Thus, “state funds” were spent on the construction of these catamarans at a state enterprise, in order to then transfer them to a private individual for obviously unprofitable operation, where each link in the “food chain” received its share, and at least three such vessels have been built to date.
But in the context of the Feodosia part of this scam, it is necessary to separately point out that the 04580 “Kotlin” project itself, being built “under the supervision” of the criminal “Russian Maritime Register of Shipping”, is in no way intended for the Black Sea waters, not even for some “coastal voyages”.
The fact is that the ships of project 04580 were built taking into account the features of the “water area of St. Petersburg and the exit to the Gulf of Finland” as essentially river waters, and with a very low draft, specially designed to pass under the St. Petersburg bridges.
If they start building them in “More”, then these catamarans will most likely face the fate of Medvedev’s “Kometas” described earlier: eternal downtime at the pier after writing off the “federal billions”: it is obvious that for Ksenia Shoigu’s Kronstadt scams, 16 such catamarans “in metal” is a practically fantastic number.
However, if these ships are initially planned to exist only on paper, many world-class swindlers will envy the scale of such a scam.
