On March, 24 our Association’s expert Dr. Borys Babin hold a meeting in Kyiv with the officials of Ukraine Monitoring Initiative of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Human Dimension Officers Fridon Kiria and Orce Bonev, discussing current challenges for human dimension and human rights at Russia-occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Crimea.
Expert presented to OSCE officials information about ARC’s activities during last months, including cooperation with UN human rights bodies and activities at OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting in Vienna last week, devoted to defence of journalism and countering fakes and propaganda.
During the meeting Dr. Babin informed OSCE officials about the current situation with illegal “conscription” and militarisation in the Crimea, also as about illegal children trafficking by occupiers and related “budget” money laundering. ARC’s expert also described the current situation with illegal “nationalisation” of real estate and enterprises in AR Crimea and Sevastopol and campaign of land plots’ “confiscation”, that started in March in the occupied peninsula.
Expert gave to OSCE officials new information on repressions in the medical area in the Crimea, including access to ambulances and medical drugs, with some certain examples, and pointed on occupiers’ broadscale financial scams in that area. Also the situation of Crimea collaborators’ hate speech and racists incitements was described including new features of anti-Romanism, also as genocidal policies against ethnic Ukrainians.
