Earlier, ARC have repeatedly reported on the pressure of Russia on the government of Bulgaria, where the aggressor sought to maintain control of its Lukoil concern over an oil refinery in Burgas.

Since March 2022, our Association has reasonably informed the competent structures of European and EU countries about the involvement of this enterprise “Lukoil Neftochim Burgas” in supporting the criminal work of the Russian special services, in promoting the ideas of the “Russian world” in the Balkans, and also in the aggressor’s criminal “Crimean agenda”.

Further, as the ARC pointed out, on December 17, Russian propaganda circulated a statement by one of the leaders of “Lukoil Naftohim Burgas”, Ilshat Sharafutdinov, that the plant could limit work due to the ninth sanctions package adopted by the European Union.

Vadim Vorobyov, executive director of “Lukoil”, announced the “export quota” of this monopoly enterprise, which provides, among other things, the domestic Bulgarian market.

On December 21, our Association received a response from the European Commission, confirming that the EU structures are working on our information regarding the illegal activities of the “Lukoil” corporation in Bulgaria, the work of our Association in this area will continue.
