Crimean collaborators are animatedly discussing the current initiatives of the aggressor’s State Duma for “persons with dual citizenship”.
Now the aggressor will most likely demand that these persons immediately “begin to renounce their second citizenship”. The process of “depriving persons who have not taken the oath of Russian citizenship” is also expected to begin, since “the period during which persons who accepted Russian citizenship before the law on the oath came into force must take it is expiring”.
The aggressor’s propagandists “reassure” the Crimean collaborators who have not taken any “oaths” since 2014 mainly by saying that the oath requirement was introduced in 2017 and “the law is not retroactive”, but for some reason they refuse to believe in such “rule of law” as implemented by the Kremlin on the peninsula.
Collaborators also do not trust the explanations that the requirement to renounce a second citizenship does not apply to Crimean residents, since “the possession of two passports by the overwhelming majority of them does not mean a second citizenship.”
At the same time, the need for a Ukrainian passport for Crimean inhabitants is cynically acknowledged, since “property and labor relations were “tied” to it, so it is definitely not profitable to dispose of them.”
But practically no one believes the statements that “the bill is about something else altogether” and “first of all, it concerns “stars” and “bloggers” who fled”: Crimean residents remember very well the exemplary “whippings” of the occupation “officials” who were found with Ukrainian passports, and the aggressor’d repeated demands to refuse from them.
It is obvious that now none of the aggressor’s punishers will soften their approaches, which, among other things, creates phenomenal corruption opportunities to put pressure on any Crimean inhabitant who, in addition to a Ukrainian passport, has “unnecessary” business or real estate lying around.
