In framework of permanent cooperation with United Nations’ bodies, our Associaiton sent submission to UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Dr. Morris Tidball-Binz, for his report to 79th session of the General Assembly on aspects of killing as consequence of sexual and gender discrimination.
Our submission, prepared by Dr. Borys Babin and published on UN web-sources now, remonded to UN structures that illegal occupation of the Crimea and Russian-Ukrainian interstate conflict in whole, changed the situation in the region and worsened significantly the situation with violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
ARC’s submission reminded to UN officials that since November 2023, Russian invaders “legalized” repressions against sexual minorities’ representatives as allegely part of fake “International LGBT Social Movement”.
This illegal “ban” allowed the occupiers in the Crimea and mainland Russia-controlled areas of Ukraine to persecute any homosexual or allegedly “homosexual”, and under a “political” punitive “legal norm”, ARC’s submission added.
At the same time Russian and collaborators’ propaganda actors used massively exactly hate homophobian speech as key part of “electoral PR” during pseudoelections in occupied territories, creating such “internal enemy” as sexual minorities. In such situation killings of such minorities’ representatives become more often in Russia-occupied Crimea, ARC submission added.
