On Wednesday, May 31, an expert of the Association, Dr. Borys Babin, took part in a round table on the topic “Journalism in the de-occupied territories”, which was held online.
The round table was organized by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Crimean Tatar Resource Center and Commission on Journalistic Ethics.
The event discussed examples of journalism in the de-occupied Kherson, as well as the challenges faced by the media in the context of ongoing Russian aggression.
As Tatyana Podvornyak, an expert, pointed out at the event, “without indigenous journalism, an effective reintegration process cannot take place. Therefore, first of all, the state of Ukraine should contribute to the speedy restoration of all ethnic media that worked before the occupation in Crimea and the creation of new ones.”
