In March, aggressor-controlled “Crimean media” began promising another “bonus” for “veterans” of Russian aggression in the form of “free dental implants.”
However, this “federal initiative” is currently unfunded, despite the fact that the cost of dental implants in Crimean clinics ranges from “36,000 to 60,000 rubles per tooth.”
Even if we imagine that the aggressor does establish such a “benefit,” it’s easy to predict what will happen next, based on Crimea’s existing history of corruption.
Since 2023, the occupiers have announced the introduction of “free dental prosthetics” for the “numerous” category of WWII veterans, of whom there were about a hundred on the peninsula in 2024. All of them were over 90 years old, and new teeth were clearly not a priority for this handful of very elderly people.
Nevertheless, the funds from this “benefit,” which incidentally did not include payment for metal-ceramic dental implants, were laundered by the occupiers’ “ministry of health” using “dead souls.” However, this corrupt scheme yielded a rather modest profit for its participants due to the “limited contingent.”
Another way to launder money from fake “prosthetics” in recent years has been to spend funds from “local budgets” on “one-time financial assistance for those in need.”
The amount of “aid” amounted to up to 15,000 rubles per “applicant,” and the fact that it was clearly insufficient for dental care didn’t bother anyone for obvious reasons – these funds were allocated primarily to front men and were misappropriated by the same “officials” from local “social welfare departments.”
As for the actual “used cannon fodder” of the occupiers, as we’ve already written, in real life they faced a lack of funds for prosthetic limbs. Also, as we’ve pointed out, blinded “veterans” of the aggressor cannot count on guide dogs in Crimea. Obviously, the situation with “dental prosthetics” will be the same.
