Upon the invitation of organisers, ARC’s expert, professor Borys Babin participated actively in 2024 Climate Law and Governance Day, as the key expert event on fields of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), that started in Baku, Azerbaijan.
During Climate Day Professor Babin initated discussion on Roundtable “Galvanizing Global Attention on the ICJ Climate Change Proceedings” on issues of perspectves of claims and responcibilities, especially in conditions of interstate conflicts, such as Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Also during other Roundtable “Advancing Global Accountability for Corporate Climate Action” expert Babin initiated fruitful exchange of ideas with speakers, such as Professor Philippe Sands, on issue of correlation between climate change issues and ecocide concept, especially in conditions of international humanitaran law application in interstate conflicts, like Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Our Association experts’ work on the COP-29 events, presenting results of our researches and activities on issues of occupiers’ crimes against Crimea and Black Sea ecology will be continued.
